Dr. Laurent Calvier completed his Engineering degree and his Master’s degree in Biotechnical Sciences in 2009 in France.  He graduated with a PhD in Biological Sciences from the University of Lorraine (France) in November 2012 (Lacolley Lab, INSERM, Nancy). Laurent joined the Hansmann Lab in July 2013.  For his PhD thesis, he studied the Aldosterone pathway and its role in cardiac, vascular and kidney remodeling.  His work was supported by grants from the 6th EU-FP Network of Excellence Ingenious HyperCare and the 7th EU-FP HOMAGE and FIBRO-TARGETS projects.  For his postdoctoral project with Georg Hansmann, Laurent investigates key transcriptional and epigenetic regulatory pathways in cultured smooth muscle cells and in rodent models of pulmonary hypertensive vascular disease.
